Rae the owner by anyone’s standards is an interesting gentleman, his passion for the antiques and furniture business goes back more than 50 years, long before the ever popular TV Bargain Hunt which made the collecting of Antique more mainstream. Rae has not acquired antiques status yet but is definitely a good vintage!

Declans like many successful businesses, evolve, from his original Wakefield market stall to a shop in Castleford, West Yorkshire and then in 2000 to the current premises in Wakefield. As a trader the business has sold large volumes of product internationally into Europe, Australia, America, and Japan. But the local shop business became the priority and developed had a loyal following of customers.

What this means is that Declan’s know it’s onions! His many years in this business give him privileged access to a flow of new products sure to capture the attention of his customer base.

In the early days of the antique trade the maxim was ‘always leave something in it for the next guy’ and this has been the Declans pricing philosophy ever since. We put every effort into sourcing items at the best possible price which we can pass onto our customers.
